Music Theory / Aural Skills

Richard has experience teaching and assisting at all levels of undergraduate theory. He has presented work at multiple conferences, and currently serves as the student representative of the Music Theory Society of the Mid-Atlantic.

Composition

Richard is an active composer writing contemporary concert music. His works have been commissioned by the Library of Congress and many contemporary ensembles, and he enjoys collaborating with artists across different mediums.

PIANO

Richard has taught private piano lessons to students of all ages and experience levels for over a decade. He has experience teaching a variety of styles, and he believes students should engage with music across genres and discover what interests them.
